Integrated Network Security and Reliability Center, Bldg. 727
Sandia National Laboratories
The Integrated Network Reliability and Security Center (INRSC) brings monitoring and control of Sandia’s computing infrastructure and services to a single facility. By having security, network, database, server and operations personnel in one building, Sandia can detect and respond to security violations as well as detect and respond to problems in the computer network. The front entrance of the building presents a strong front door image boldly announcing the entrance. Sustainable design was implemented throughout the construction of the building,
which is constructed of partially recycled steel and aluminum. The use of a steel superstructure is designed to maximize efficiency and minimize the use of material. The orientation of the
building creates an energy-conscious design. This design/build project was completed with Summit Construction.

Ion Beam Laboratory Building 720
Sandia National Laboratories
The new ion beam laboratory and office facility will house a Tandem Van de Graaff accelerator, a
Pelletron accelerator and an ion implanter, in radiation- and vibration-shielded enclosures. This unique ion beam test facility is the only facility of its kind in the United States. The design/build project with Summit Construction will be divided into two areas: the high-bay laboratory area which forms the bulk of the building, and the administrative office area.
Daylight is used throughout the occupied areas of the building--a combination of exterior windows, skylights and interior borrowed lights. The project has been designed using sustainable design concepts to achieve silver-level LEED® certification.
