The NISAC is a 25,000sf office and research facility for the U.S. Department of Homeland Security located at Sandia National Laboratories. While it is a part of the national laboratory, NISAC represents the gateway to a new campus, just south of Tech Area One. As the facility hosts numerous visiting technical staff and dignitaries, it is organized into two halves, a lobby and public area where a security clearance is not required, and a restricted-access limited area. Immediately off the lobby is a large sub dividable conference room. The core of the facility is the visualization lab, a formal work/conference area and communications hub where simulation and analysis projects are conducted. Throughout the facility, open team collaboration areas provide informal group meeting/work space for the staff, including outdoor meeting courtyards.
