Cathedral of St. John

The courtyard remodel of this historic church features hand-hewn stone, brick and cast stone detailing, ornamental wrought iron and a new shingle roof.

A new prayer grotto was designed into a new retaining wall to reflect the existing gothic arches of the church. The stair bell tower was modified and extended to create an open, visible connection between lower and upper levels. A meditative labyrinth was constructed of stained concrete with patterns etched into the surface. The new landscaping restores the original Biblical memorial garden and provides a rich connection to nature and to religious education and to the Holy Lands.
