This new 5,600 s.f. free-standing gymnasium replaces a temporary fabric structure at Manzano Day School. The new Pueblo-style building was designed to blend into the historic setting of the neighborhood and the existing school and features a south-facing portal with an integral banco and a bell tower entry. The facility houses the school’s P.E. program and accommodates basketball, volleyball, dodge ball, foursquare, as well as a climbing wall. It is designed to be available for community use. Gym floor markings expand the teaching opportunities with a large letters and numbers, assembly circles and other markings for educational exercises. Support spaces include offices, restrooms, storage for interior and exterior athletic equipment and a laundry/shower.
