Acoma Amphitheater

The first permanent solar-powered venue in New Mexico, the 4,500 person capactiy “Sun and Sky Natural Amphitheater” will provide an ecological way to experience live entertainment.

Designed to nestle between two knolls with great views of Mt. Taylor, the amphitheater will be built in four phases. Expected to be complete by May 2010, the first phase includes the construction of a covered solar powered 60’ x 40’ amphitheatre stage with solar panels, 1,500 portable seating, picnic and parking area.

The interpretive pedestrian path leading from the parking lot with the amphitheater tells the native Acoma story through a series of graphic displays that are grouped with tree covered seating areas. The ticketing gates that greet visitors with a dynamic fabric covered security entrance.
